Flu

Description : This contagious respiratory illness is caused by a variety of viruses.

Symptoms : Includes mild to severe illness with fever, chills, cough, and body aches.

Root Causes : In TCM, the flu is caused by excess wind. Qi deficiency contributes. Certain risk factors, such as age, weakened immune system, and underlying health conditions, can increase the susceptibility and severity of the illness in individuals.

Our Recommendation :
Oregano would be the best first choice. Take 1-5 drops from dropper into mouth or dilute into small glass of water. Next, after an hour to two would be to take 1 clove of garlic, chopped up, wait 10 minutes for it to oxidize and then have with honey. An immunity tea with Echinacea would be best to take if you do not feel better after those two. A good probiotic would help as well to take. Finally a Wim Hof breathing exercise should help your immune system. If none work please contact one of our health coaches to assist you further. Foods That Harm : Cold or raw foods, refined carbs, sugar, wheat, dairy, fried foods, spicy foods, caffeine, alcohol.

Foods That Heal :
Light and easy-to-digest foods (bone broth soups, cooked vegetables), celery, carrots, rice, parsley, garlic, onions, miso, shiitake mushroom, herbal teas, licorice tea, ginger tea.

Natural Remedies
:
Elderberry - Stimulates the immune system. Take as directed.
Echinacea - Eases upper respiratory symptoms.
Probiotics - Bacillus bacteria has anti-viral activity.
Garlic - Anti-viral properties. Cut up one clove, let sit out for 10 minutes before digesting, add honey.
Astragalus - Strengthens the gut and immune system.
Bone Broth - Supports immune health.
Sunlight - Natural Vitamin D exposure can enhance immune system.

Other Remedies : Take Zinc, Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Turkey Tail mushrooms. Get acupuncture and chiropractic care. Sleep as much as possible. Reduce stress, breath fresh air, use a humidifier at night,. Cook with wind-expelling herbs, (sage, oregano, thyme, garlic). Drink plenty of water throughout the day, add good salt after using bathroom.
